I want my teeth straightened without braces or invisalign.?

Is this possible, is there any type of surgery or procedure to move teeth into their correct positions, a few of my teeth are slightly awkward but not by much, enough to bother me though. I want perfect teeth.

I want my teeth straightened without braces or invisalign.?
No. You could have someone punch you in the mouth and see how far that moves them, but thats really about your only option other than braces or invisalign.
Reply:Yes, %26quot;instant orthodontics%26quot; AKA %26quot;veneers%26quot; can be used if the crowding isn%26#039;t too severe
Reply:You would have to have braces or invisalign. Surgery is only an option if you just want to remove teeth. They can%26#039;t straighten a tooth out with surgery because it would be too traumatic to the root. You can however get porcelain veneers to replace the crooked teeth. They would shave the teeth down to nubs and put the veneer over it. I think it%26#039;s really expensive though and there can be complications.
Reply:Oral veneers lotsa cash though just ---get braces
Reply:These are your only 2 choices. There is another system that is like invisalign but I haven%26#039;t heard about it for a while Rather than having braces on the outside of the teeth, this appliance sits inside
Reply:well u can get Veeners but they are ex-pen-sive

Is brushing your teeth too often bad? please help!?

Okay i just got braces about 4 days ago. The ortho said to make sure I brush my teeth after each meal. They gave me 2 b4 and after pictures. one is of a person who didnt clean their teeth well and the other is someone who cleaned them well while they had braces. The one who didnt brush right permanent damage %26amp; it was gross. The other person had beautiful perfect teeth.

I was talking to someone today who said brushing too often is bad bc it can wear away your gums....is that true?

Has anyone recently got their braces off?---any damage?

Thank you!

Is brushing your teeth too often bad? please help!?
brushing too much for years and years (like 20 or more) is bad, brushing after every meal and even more when you have on braces is GOOD!

don%26#039;t worry about it for the few years you have on your braces.

also, you DO want to brush your gums and teeth, not just your teeth. a little of the brush on the gums and a little on the teeth. otherwise you will get gingivitis.

however do not SCRUB your gums, just to gentle vibrations.

good luck!
Reply:ur fine. ull b ok. i had braces and brushed twice a day and i survived
Reply:dont brush your gums and u should be fine.
Reply:I don%26#039;t think so- it might be bad on your toothbrush though :)
Reply:You won%26#039;t have any teth left if you brush too much
Reply:well you should always follow what your doctors say but brushing them too much can wear down both your enamel and make your gums irritated.
Reply:Okay as long as you brush correctly. Do not erode your gums. Brush the teeth near the gums carefully.
Reply:there is nothing wrong with brushing your teeth often!

just dont scrub your gums like crazy..if they start beeding then you%26#039;ve got some problems lol
Reply:idk
Reply:do brush them as u were told , its important

the person who told u it was bad is also correct however u will be ok as long as u don%26#039;t brush them too hard and use a soft tooth brush
Reply:i dont have braces, but i dont think brushing your teeth will wear away your gums. thats sounds silly. just listen to your doctor, and brush after meals, thats all. GOOD LUCK.
Reply:You can errode your enamel doing it too much, plus you can make your gums recede and that%26#039;s bad b/c if your roots are exposed they will be very sensitive
Reply:Brush throughly and gently. Don%26#039;t damage your gums.

I never had braces, so I can%26#039;t answer that part.
Reply:when i had them i brushed my teeth either once at night or in the morning and night and my teeth came out really nice but overbrushing wont hurt
Reply:Yes. It%26#039;s true.

No. I don%26#039;t really have any damage.

And I believe that you will only wear away at your gums if you brush your gums. If you just brush your teeth and swipe a little bit by your gums then you shouldn%26#039;t have anything to worry about.
Reply:no ull be fine

im getting mine off in two weeks :D looking forward to it but a little scared
Reply:Yes, it is bad for your teeth and can cause gum diease for your gums...
Reply:no thats definitely not tru i had my braces on for 4 years. and i brushed my teeth 3 times a day and sometimes even more. i brushed after every food i ate my teeth turned out perfectly fine and now wear %26amp; tear on my gums :-D
Reply:Normally brushing too much can erode your gums (it happened to me and now my teeth are way longer than they should be and at danger of falling out), but with braces you can%26#039;t really get as close to the gums anyway. And your teeth can get really badly stained if you don%26#039;t brush the right way when you have braces. I still think it%26#039;s quality over quantity though. I wouldn%26#039;t brush more than 3 times a day but make sure you%26#039;re doing it right!
Reply:no it is not true not doing it often enough is bad
Reply:IF YOU BRUSH TO HARD IT CAN BE HARMFUL.

OTHERWISE JUST BRUSH AFTER EACH MEAL JUST BE GENTILE AND TRY USING A SOFT BRISTLE BRUSH.

:)
Reply:My friend is a dental assistant and she actually told me she%26#039;s had many patients come in that had brushed way too often. Their gums were not in the best shape and were having a hard time healing. Brushing your teeth after meals is great, but she says to be careful, by not brushing your teeth/gums too hard. You%26#039;ll probably be ok with brushing your teeth about 3 times a day, maybe 4.
Reply:brushing ur teeth to much can wear down the gums... i just got my braces off and i only brushed twice a day nd i was fun my teeth just wasnt as white as they were b4.

http://www.webmd.com/oral-health/guide/c...

the site gives u some pointers on brushing and flossing
Reply:Just do what your ortho reccomends. Use a soft toothbrush so you don%26#039;t hurt your gums.
Reply:yes, you can brush too hard, and do damage to your teeth. My mom was a fanatic about brushing her teeth, rinsing and flossing... we were all shocked when she had to have a root canal.

Its caused by long term hard brushing...its not the pressure on the tooth that gets it clean, its the throrough coverage that gets the cra* off.
Reply:I%26#039;m not a dentist but I know that brushing your teeth with rough bristles- the wrong way can damage your gums and cause your gumline to drop. Definitely try to brush your teeth in the morning and the night, and after every meal when your wearing braces. Try to avoid foods that really leave stuff stuck in your gums like corn and apples. Use soft or medium bristles and floss regularly once you get the braces off. I wore braces a long time ago and never suffered any damage. I also wore a retainer and it worked great. Getting braces was well worth the aesthetic and to maintain healthy teeth.
Reply:you cant brush ur teeth too much, ecpecially it braces
Reply:Brushing plenty times is good for you.

Just make sure you aren%26#039;t brushing too hard and make sure you are not brushing the gums.

The gums are not teeth.

But always listen to you%26#039;re orthodontist.
Reply:Brushing your teeth too often, if done properly, will no do you harm, if anything, your teeth will be cleaner. But you have to do it carefully and the right way, with the right soft-bristled toothbrush, making sure you don%26#039;t brush too hard or too rough. I also recommend that you brush with toothpaste that doesn%26#039;t have harsh ingredients. Therabreath toothgel has aloe vera which is nature%26#039;s tissue soother. It is great for the gums and sensitive teeth. It doesn%26#039;t have Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, a harsh detergent found in most toothpastes that can cause canker sores. It also has OXYD-8 which is a powerful oxygenator that effectively attacks and neutralizes the volatile sulfurous compounds that cause bad breath odors and bitter tastes. It goes perfectly with Therabreath Oral Rinse, which is non alcoholic and has oxyd 8 as well. These are very gentle products and great for use if you brush all the time. Get more info at http://www.therabreath.com
Reply:brush twice , more important in the nights. After every meal garggle.

Teeth getting worn down, can not prevent it?

i see people with perfect teeth, but over the years i dont even eat sugar, yet my teeth is getting worn down bit by bit piece by piece.

Teeth getting worn down, can not prevent it?
...a little wear and tear is normal,. the %26quot;perfect%26quot; Hollywood whiter-than-white-smiley-white teeth isn%26#039;t natural, if you clean / floss regularly and visit your dentist regularly then you%26#039;re doing all you can,. relax about this,. or go have the whitening/cap thing done too!?

Will my teeth look crooked?

I have pretty much close to being perfect teeth they have never been crooked at all...And i was wondering my dentist said i didnt have %26quot;enough%26quot; room for my wisdom teeth and id need them out when i was about 16.

Ok so this is my question

Will my teeth shift to the point of looking bad on the top and bottom?

((I asked this awhile back but i dont think i was clear enough so i%26#039;m asking again..=D))

Will my teeth look crooked?
It might or it might not happen...depends on how big your jaw is..and the ratio between your jaw size to that of your teeth..if your dentist says you will have to have the wisdom teeth out,you probably will have to do so coz they will get impacted-they will not come out fully coz they do not have enough space to-which can lead to a whole lot of other dental problems.as to the rest of your teeth getting crooked..there is a small possibility of them getting misaligned when the wisdom teeth erupt..
Reply:Yes, when the come in they can oush your other teeth out of position and you will have a jacked up grill.
Reply:sorry boo you gots to recognize that you *** is gonna get old and yo toofeses is gon be tow the **** up

My front two teeth angle out a little....will they fix themselves if i get my wisdom teeth pulled?

I dont have perfect teeth, and It is really embarrasing. I am almost 18, and havent had braces. I am getting my wisdom teeth pulled, and I wanted to know if my other teeth will spread out so my fronts arent so crowded.

My front two teeth angle out a little....will they fix themselves if i get my wisdom teeth pulled?
No, your teeth won%26#039;t move back by themselves once your wisdom teeth are extracted. You%26#039;ll probably need braces to get your teeth straightened. After your extractions are completed, get an orthodontic consult to see about getting your teeth straightened.
Reply:I%26#039;m a dentist.

In short, no, they will not fix themselves should your wisdom teeth be removed.

I%26#039;ll spare you the explanation.....

Gap in front teeth?

I%26#039;m 16 y/o never had braces and always had perfect teeth. Just recently a small gap has come between my two front teeth. I haven%26#039;t got any wisdom teeth yet ( I don%26#039;t think) Will this gap close and is it a good thing to have extra room when wisdom teeth come in? Thanks for all the help!!!

Gap in front teeth?
you can get bondings to fill the gap(white color fillings) or when you get older they can give you crowns that fill the gap...but if your wisdom teeth come in it mat shift your teeth and shift the gap together...go to your dentist and ask him his opinion as well....it can hurt..just asking...good luck..
Reply:i dont think it will close
Reply:It probably will not close up without braces or a retainer.
Reply:most likely the gap will not close since u%26#039;ve already got all of your permanant teeth, that gap has nothing to do with your wisdom teeth, i think(i m a registered dental assistant), see a dentist if u think the gap really bothers u, u have several options, if it%26#039;s my mouth, i would do braces out of all options!
Reply:That%26#039;s a question for your dentist, you should see one at least twice a year.
Reply:I had a pretty big gap when I was a teenager, but slowly, it%26#039;s been growing together. My center teeth just started touching last year when - BAM, my 3-year hits my mouth with his head while jumping in a pool. His head was fine, but it moved one of my teeth back and I had to have it filed so I could close my teeth.

I was told when I was 22 that braces would not have helped, but bonding could be an option.
Reply:IF YOU%26#039;RE 16 YOU STILL DON%26#039;T HAVE YOUR WISDOM TEETH. IF YOU WERE TO BRACES YOU MAY STILL HAVE A DIASTEMA OR SPACE.

WHY?

SOMETIMES FIBROUS TISSUE EXISTS BETWEEN YOUR TWO FRONT TEETH OR A UPPER LABIAL FRENUM MAINTAINS THIS SPACE.

FOR THESE CASES SOME MINOR GUM SURGERY IS NEEDED.
Reply:Ask your dentist about porcelain veneers. They will close the gap.

How much of a factor is straight teeth in attraction?

Can you be attractive but have crooked/chipped teeth? I have a bit of an underbite, and my wisdom teeth have made my top row crooked in the front. Additionally, I%26#039;ve had a chipped tooth in the front that was never a big deal before, but now that that particular tooth is pushed out a bit, I%26#039;m more conscious of my smile. I haven%26#039;t had the money to go to an orthodontist yet (but I%26#039;m working on it). I%26#039;ve had plenty of girlfriends, and I have been told that I am a pretty attractive guy... but I can%26#039;t seem to get over the teeth thing.

I look around at all my friends, and they all have very straight, white teeth. I feel like this is the only thing keeping me from truly attracting the women I want to attract, despite all the rest (personality, eyes, whatever other superficial factors play a part in attracting someone). I feel like this is a huge part in that, especially in our American society where perfect teeth seems to be a norm...

How much of a factor is straight teeth in attraction?
Straight teeth is not the only thing women like. There are lots of qualities women look for. If you are generally well-kept in your appearance and grooming, tooth crowding is not that big a deal. Straight teeth are nice and if you find yourself in the position to get them straightened go for it. But don%26#039;t discount yourself on your teeth only. They are only part of the bigger picture. And please smile like you mean it. Covering up your mouth looks like you have something to hide. There%26#039;s nothing more attractive than a genuine smile.
Reply:funny teeth feel better when she gives oral sex
Reply:Depends...it can be quite a difference maker with some people. Go find a good dentist and get it fixed...
Reply:I%26#039;ve surely never had a problem with guys with crooked teeth, i%26#039;d surely rather crooked teeth than no teeth- or even worse- BAD BREATH!
Reply:It really depends on the person. For some people, perfect teeth are part of their attraction to a person, for others it doesn%26#039;t matter. The thing is, if you are uncomfortable with your teeth then you should fix them - if you are okay with them then find someone who is attracted to you the way you are.
Reply:I have crooked teeth also but it doesn%26#039;t seem to bother any boys in my school
Reply:You just answered your own question. Teeth matter on an unconscious level and you can prove it to yourself.

Until you get your teeth fixed, you won%26#039;t know what you are missing. Just look at your past track record on who you%26#039;ve been attracting before and then after.

Unconsciously, human beings determine someones overall health for future generations.

So, you do what you feel you need to do.
Reply:i have had not-so-beautiful teeth also....so i am one who looks at teeth a lot. most girls probably wouldnt care. if u have had girlfriends, they must not have cared. but save up ur money and u can get it fixed later on. dont worry about something u cant obtain now. if it makes u feel self concious then fix it. teeth dotn make that much of a difference, people are proabbly used to u the way u r :)
Reply:Relax! If you think its a complex, then I%26#039;ll be! If you are an attractive person with charm, then you shoul;dn%26#039;t worry a lot about your teeth. If a girl really likes you she could %26quot;pass over%26quot; your teeth. Still the best is to go o %26quot;repair%26quot; them, but if you have no money (yet), then you could at least buy some whitening stuff for you teeth, it%26#039;ll make them look nicer, this still you can afford to make them straight and how you would like. Oh, there are some girls who are crazy about white-perfect-straight teeth, but remember90% of the girls would like to have a nice, attractive, charming guy with dredful teeth than an ugly, humorless, antypatic guy with brilliant super-star teeth!
Reply:This is your self image of yourself and not necessarily what others feel. As long as you feel self conscious about yourself, you will project that image to others. It%26#039;s not your teeth that is holding you back it is your self perception. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, if you have a beautiful soul you are beautiful. If it bothers you that much you might want to get them fixed. I have crooked teeth and I want them just the way they are. If I ever get murdered and they are looking for my body they will be able to identify me without a problem. They make me unique. They make me me.
Reply:i never really used to notice a smile for the teeth so much until mine started getting noticed..and now.. i love a good smile, but a good smile does not necessarily mean perfectly straight/white teeth..

i can be with someone with not perfect teeth, but if it is so jacked up that it makes me want to puke at the thought of coming near it.. i think cricked teeth is one thing, but really nasty stained teeth is another thing. it%26#039;s automatically associated with bad hygeine..and now that there are umpteen million kinds of whitening cream out there it%26#039;s like %26quot;dude use it%26quot; when you see someone with NASTY yellow stains.. yeah, it bothers me..and i think it%26#039;s also how it sits on a person.

i was with a guy who had some teeth that were really jacked up on the top..but for some reason it worked for him.. and i liked it..i think mostly b/c it didnt%26#039; bother him

so basicaly what i%26#039; saying.. is have confidence. don%26#039;t be afraid to smile!! the confidence will win you over..
Reply:sorry to say but alot of people judge you based on your smile, girls,jobs,etc... it%26#039;s hard to seem appealing to other people with a bad smile. I am a dental assistant though and they have these things that look like a full set of teeth that you just place over your real teeth and there you have a hollywood smile very inexpensive.
Reply:I really depends on how you smile and what really shows when you do. I think the most important thing is that they are clean and white. It is much easier to look over the crookedness if all else is kept up. Having said that, if they are way jacked up, then I would start saving.
Reply:well good teeth is a definite plus.

Fix teeth gap?

i have pretty much perfect teeth.. except for the gap in between

my two front teeth. Its not super big, but it really bothers me.

im thinking of invasilign because bonding might

make me look more buck-toothed but i really have no idea.

if you have any suggestions id like to hear them, thankyou!

btw, im 14 years of age if this is of any importance.

Fix teeth gap?
I would get braces on the two front teeth to make them come together. if u dont want braces

go for invislign ! that will really help!
Reply:its very possible that when you get your wisdom teeth in they could push your teeth together.

I have sensitive teeth ALL THE TIME (for the past year!)?

I have had sensitive teeth for nearly two years and the pain has only gotten worse. I have seen four different dental practices and the pain has now become so bad that I can%26#039;t talk outside as if the cold hits my teeth I would just die from the pain. I use sensodyne on a daily basis plus those desensitising gels, none of which have worked in the slightest and I%26#039;m really scared I might loose all of my teeth as the pain I feel on a daily basis/every second of the day cannot be normal. No dentist seems to be able to help me and when I vist a dentist they just say, %26quot;oh you have perfect teeth%26quot; and that they cannot find anything wrong in the X-ray. It%26#039;s so annoying and I really need a cure now - I think I could lose my husband also as when we have a conversation sometimes I just wave my hand to get him to stop talking because if I have to answer him the pain hurts so much. Someone help me please - I really need help.

I have sensitive teeth ALL THE TIME (for the past year!)?
Well, I know how annoying it is for a doctor to ignore the reason you are seeing him. You didn%26#039;t know you had %26quot;perfect teeth?%26quot; Gee, thanks, but I%26#039;m here because THEY HURT LIKE HELL ALL THE TIME!!! I guess then they will just tell you to calm down, but maybe you%26#039;d get their attention. I wonder if they do that because they really don%26#039;t know what%26#039;s wrong and they don%26#039;t want to seem stupid.

The only thing I can think of is if you have whitened your teeth in that time? I used that paint on stuff and they all hurt like heck for a while and I had to skip my sensitive tooth.

Maybe if you went to a dental school and got an appointment there they might have more of a clue because they%26#039;re learning. I%26#039;m sorry but I don%26#039;t know what else to suggest. Good luck!
Reply:if you have already been to your dentist then i have only one thing to sugest which is use a sensitive tooth paste like sensodineit really helps and is relitivly cheap.

hope you cure your sensitive teeth soon

Reply:keep the paste on your teeth for atleast 2 minutes before brushing them, but i am suprised that if 4 dentists didnt find something wrong it might be a neurological problem.get it checked out from that angle

Deseases that make healthy teeth fall out..?

is there some rare deseases that makes healthy teeth fall out i have a best friend whom been having problems with severe jaw pain she would say it felt just like a toothache so she thought it was just that but she had no signs of decayed teeth she had perfect teeth only around th gum area looks reddish and tender she went out for dinner and she said she bite down into a piece of steak and two of her teeth were stuck in the steak so she made an dentist appt.. and was told that she had a very rare gum condtion 6 of her back teeth were decayed at the root the surface looked healty but the root was decayed and therefore thats where the pain was comming from they removed them and now tryin some preventive measures to save the rest so i am askin is there some oral deseases that attack the gum root and destroy them i was shocked i never heard of it but it was true i seen here diagnosies papers ist true if u have a simpler problems pls give me ur input thanks...

Deseases that make healthy teeth fall out..?
being diabetic, the roots of the teeth die because they dont get enough blood then a perfectly good tooth falls out.
Reply:is she doing drugs?
Reply:Diabetes will make teeth fall out sometimes ,so will a kick in the mug by a mule. My advice is to brush twice a day , floss and don%26#039;t worry about it.
Reply:I have healthy teeth, but the dentist said that I need to pay more attention to my gums. Gingivitis can cause those symptoms and yes it can cause your teeth to fall out. Gingivitis can be very painful and it does cause the gums to rot so much that your teeth fall out. Another thing that can cause this believe it or not is diabetes.

I don%26#039;t know that this is so helpful. Those are the only two things I can think of. maybe try a google search under rare gum diseases and see what you can find. This is making my teeth hurt just thinking about it.

I'm worried of loosing all my teeth & I have no more baby teeth, is that normal?

My mom only has a few of her top row and bottom row front teeth, my Auntie always has toothaces, my other aunt has fake teeth, I have perfect teeth, I do brush them when I get to. And sometimes, I floss. But I get some occasional toothaches. When I was 8-10, I used to always go to the dentist and I%26#039;ve lost all my baby teeth. When I was young I ate alot of candy, but I don%26#039;t no more. I don%26#039;t have any more baby teeth. I%26#039;m worried of loosing a tooth and looking weird or loosing all my teeth, help please?

- Rainbow

I%26#039;m worried of loosing all my teeth %26amp; I have no more baby teeth, is that normal?
The best thing you can do Rainbow is stay away from sugars in a liquid form. Soft drinks like Mountain Dew are the worst especially if you drink them at night at go to bed without brushing and flossing. The plaque is formed from the acids and bacteria in your mouth and can settle on the tooth causing decay. At your age, a fluoride over the counter rinse like Act is helpful to strenthen your enamel(outer layer of tooth) Eating a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables is essential and drinking plenty of water is helpful to wash away those sugars in candy, soda pop, gum etc.It is normal to worry about your teeth. I have some patients that dream about losing teeth. However, if you are careful in brushing and flossing and watch what you eat, there is no need to worry. Good luck and smile often.
Reply:You%26#039;re thirteen and you are losing your teeth?! That%26#039;s weird. I mean your new teeth are supposed to be really strong. I%26#039;m thriten and even though my teeth are slightly yellow and crooked they are fine. i would say you inherited your teeth problems from your mum...
Reply:youre supposed to lose your baby teeth by the time you hit puberty so there is nothing wrong with you in any way regarding tooth loss.
Reply:Most people your age have lost all their baby teeth, flossing regularly will help you the most. But, you need to have the dentist check for cavities b/c they happen so easily in teenagers and can be easily filled if found soon enough. Otherwise they decay so much they need a root canal or extractions.
Reply:Youll be fine :) Just take care of them. If you see a dentist regularly then she will give you tips and let you know if theres a problem.
Reply:O.K darling your are fine

If you would like to have your teeth as long as you live you have to

1- Brush your teeth 2 times daily as minimum in a good way / ask your dentist

2- Do good flossing 2 times daily / start with this when your teeth come in contact to each other

3- visit your dentist every 6 - 12 months for check up

* Do that and you will keep your teeth and gum working

In my reseach time I have met a lady in the 65 age and she still having all of her teeth

Do worry and take care of them

Note :

When you brush you teeth and gum bleeds - ask your dentist directly.

( At last )

I want to say somthing , if you follow your dentist way of brushing and flossing exactly !!!! Darling You can eat what ever you like even sweets , !!!!! But for sure not any food or drink that may affect your general health

Please don%26#039;t say he is crazy because trust me I know what I am talking about

and by the way those information are working in the whole world and not only in USA because as I know that the world is not USA only

Good Luck

JUST BECAUSE YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE LOST THEIR TEETH DOESN%26#039;T MEAN YOU HAVE TO ALSO.

THE KEY TO KEEPING YOUR TEETH IS CARING FOR THEM.

BRUSHING TWICE DAILY AND FLOSSING SEVERAL TIMES PER WEEK WILL MAINTAIN YOUR ADULT TEETH IN GOOD SHAPE, AS WELL AS VISITING YOUR DENTIST REGULARLY.

FYI, 90% OF ADULT AMERICANS NEVER, EVER FLOSS AND 75% HAVE A FORM OF GUM DISEASE, WHICH EVENTUALLY LEADS TO TOOTH LOSS.

I want movie star teeth. I know it will cost. Money isn't a problem, I'm more concerned about the health risks

I really want perfect teeth, never had them. Do they chip away at my teeth to make them look perfect? I don%26#039;t want to hurt my normal teeth.

I want movie star teeth. I know it will cost. Money isn%26#039;t a problem, I%26#039;m more concerned about the health risks
It depends on what you do. If you just whiten them, it is harmless. If you get veneers or crowns they do have to grind down and shape the teeth so that the veneers or crowns can go over them. Veneers are less invasive, they are like a fake fingernail. They just grind a little off the front surface (millimeters). For a crown though your teeth will be shaped down into a peg shape so the crowns will fit perfectly and stay on. Id go for veneers if it were me. good luck!!
Reply:your probably looking at veneers ... and they are costly ... I%26#039;ve heard they look nice but not very stable .. the best thing to do is look into braces and whitening ... and fix the ones that can%26#039;t be corrected.
Reply:If money isn%26#039;t a problem, call your dentist.. Today, they can fix any and everything. Your teeth can be as white and as straight as you want with veneers. And it doesn%26#039;t take long either.

Veneers don%26#039;t usually require much drilling just impressions. But if you have teeth that have cavities and are not straight it will take a little longer and crowns might be needed.

If you have the money, you can look like a movie star in no time!!!
Reply:well if you have had braces then...Don%26#039;t worry your teeth are never gonna be perfect!

Can anti depressents ruin your teeth?

I always had perfect teeth. Everyone always complimented me on how straight and white my teeth were. When I turned 21 my teeth started to go rotten now i%26#039;m 25 and i probably have the worst teeth out ot the people my age in this world. I don%26#039;t get it because I always brushed, flased and went to the dentist every six months for a cleaning. I can%26#039;t go to the dentist because I have no insurance and it%26#039;s way to expensive. I suffered from depression from the age of 14 and have always been on different anti depressents. Can these types of pills ruin your teeth? I also have overdosed a lot in the past and had to drink a lot of charcol can charcol ruin a persons teeth? I can%26#039;t think of any other reason for my teeth being so horrible.

Please don%26#039;t make fun I only want serious answers.

Thanks

Can anti depressents ruin your teeth?
Antidepressants are one of the leading drug classes that can have a side-effect of dry-mouth. Dry mouth will ruin your teeth faster than anything else I can think of. What kind of drugs are you overdosing on? That could very well be your problem too. Many illegal drugs will also cause dry mouth, especially smoking meth. Bottom line is that it is very possible that a prescribed medication or illegal drug is ruining your teeth by causing dry mouth. The charcoal is not doing anything.
Reply:I%26#039;m not sure about anti depressants but i do know that some medications have side effects like having a dry mouth and less saliva and that means less natural cleansing of bacteria from the mouth, more cavity causing bacteria may be a part of your problem due to a side effect of drymouth from your pills. I think paying for prevention such as adental cleaning is going to save you money in the long run. Cleanings help prevent cavities as we cant remove every bit of plaque and hardened plaque or tartar can only be removed with an instrument by a hygienist not at home with your toothbrush. Fillings cost a LOT more than a cleaning and if you go for regular cleanings combined with good home oral care you will need a lot less fillings and save yourself a lot of money and you will look and feel good too.

Teeth Injury, HELP NEEDED?

during bball practice today, someone ran into me and their forehead slammed against my front teeth.. my lip is bleeding and the right front tooth aches a bit...

it..

1) aches

2) feels numb

3) hurts when i bite regularly... it may have been knocked out of place A LITTLE bit but it still looks fine (i have perfect teeth)

any advice on what to do? shud i put ice on it? rinse my mouth with salt water if that will help?

any1 been in this situation before? howd it turnd out and did u go to a dentist? what did u do to help it

Teeth Injury, HELP NEEDED?
It may heal itself?? try not to bite on it for a few days %26amp; wait %26amp; see. If the nerve dies?? the tooth will turn dark %26amp; will require a rt canal %26amp; a crown. This would take some time to occurr weeks or months to happen. If you get a lot of swelling go to your dentist for antibiotics. Bout all you can do right now!! Good luck. DR Walker
Reply:sounds like an infection is already festering, its too late but to go to the doctor. lil miss perfect teeth
Reply:Things to check for - Go get a recent good picture of you smiling and compare your teeth to now. Tap your teeth together and see if the injured tooth feels like it hits first. It shouldn%26#039;t be hurting when you bite down.

The best idea is to go to your dentist immediately to have it looked at, and possibly repositioned and set before it sets on its own out of position.

EVERYTIME i BRUSH MY teeth they start BLEEDING...?

hi lately ive been having problems when brushing my teeth because after i brush my teeth really well (an i dont meaen fast)

they start bleeding from the gums and bleeding through. im only 17 so i hope this isnt a big problem but not alot of 17 year olds

have bleeding teeth problems...i hope this is not a disease or something.. my mother is worried and wants to take me to the doctor ..also sometimes i forget to brush my teeth but my teeth have always beenhealthy and 6 months ago i wwent to my local dentist and he said %26quot; you have perfect teeth!%26quot; their straight and all but i dont know whyy they bleed. help is appreciated thanks for any answers

EVERYTIME i BRUSH MY teeth they start BLEEDING...?
your gums are very sensitive, just watch what junk food you eat, and do more fruits and vegetables
Reply:It is just probably a buildup of plaque.Bleeding gums could be a sign of gingivitis....just get your teeth cleaned at the dentist....dont worry thoughyu will be fine.
Reply:MAYBE BECAUSE U ONLY BRUSH UR TEETH GOOD EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE AND THEY COULD JUST HAVE GOTTEN USED TO NOT VERY MUCH BRUSHING AND THEN HID SOEM OF THE PLAC WHERE U HAVENT GOT AND THEN WHEN U BRUSH GOOD THEY START BLEEDING BUT I AM NOT SURE AND NO I AM NOT A DENTIST
Reply:could you be pregnant? bleeding gums happens in pregnancy.
Reply:bleeding gums aren%26#039;t good, see your doctor
Reply:Just be careful, might be a sign of Gum Disease.
Reply:----

it sounds as though you are brushing too hard

even though teeth are hard, gums are soft so take it easy

get a new toothbrush, not too stiff

brushing after every meal is a good habit to get into, it keeps your mouth fresh (and kissable!)

----
Reply:brush them regulary and they wont do that. i suggest you brush them twice a day.
Reply:go back to your dentist or get a second opinion, because it sound like you have gingivitis... the longer you wait the more severe it can get. if it bleeds once in a while, then it could be a mild form of gingivitis, but if this is a daily routine ran to your dentist. gum disease is not something to play around with.
Reply:my gums used to bleed. ask your dentist about massaging your gums. You get this little 3 dollar tool at the store which has a rubber poiny end. And you stick it inbetween your teeth on your gums (ask your hygienist for a demonstration on model teeth).

It might hurt a little but it adds pressure to your gums and makes them stronger. My gums used to bleed. Now they don%26#039;t (well sometimes, but not everyday).

Mexicans and good teeth?

There is a lot of Mexicans where I work. I don%26#039;t think they have insurance but I noticed every Mexican I meet has perfect teeth.

They are white and perfect straight.

Is it because the foods they eat have less sugar?

I am American and noticed we have more issues with teeth.

How do the Mexicans have such good teeth??

Mexicans and good teeth?
That is true bc my bf is mexican and I referred him to my family dentist that I have had for years, he got so many compliments from him stating they are beautiful and how mine suck. I think it is in their genes and all. I wish but I was a candy eater as a kid so now I am paying the price and have invisalign. He never needs that I hope our kids have the good teeth!
Reply:good question
Reply:They really do.. Every Mexican i know has perfectly straight and beautiful teeth.

Although there are some exceptions as with any race.

Asian people have some pretty f-ed up teeth. Some Caucasians do too..i actually saw this girl with a big gap and then her two huge buck teeth and BEHIND those, literally BEHIND there were two more teeth. How do you go years without getting that fixed?
Reply:Hey Unloved......Good Answer!
Reply:Lol i dont think i would get offended as one of the other has said but the reason we have such good teeth is because of our mothers They make us brush atleast 3 to 5 times a day. And it%26#039;s also out diet all of our meats and everything are fresh and things normal americans such as yourself wont or havent eaten such as Pig feer, (loaded with vitamins), Ox tails, cow brains. I know it sound gross but those are just some of the healthyest parts of an animal. They have the stuff that builds the enamel on your teet . and no our foods are not laess sugary.
Reply:So now we know why they have good teeth, but why do they all smell? hmm
Reply:They have great teeth. There are Asians where I work that have horrible teeth and some really, really, really funky breath. I think it is because Mexicans have more tooth brushes overall and greater access to calcium than Asians. Think about it....the Mexicans have queso fresco and that is pure magic.
Reply:I beleive the reason they have straighter teeth than many people here is because they are not a mixture of so many different nationalities as we are here. Consequently they are not as likely to inherit, for example, large teeth and a small mouth. The gene pool is much smaller, so the people%26#039;s teeth, like the other parts of their bodies, are more similar. Hmm...another consequence of our liberal immigration laws, crooked teeth. Their teeth are generally healthier because they don%26#039;t eat as much sweet junk food a we do.

Imperfect teeth?

can people actually like somone without perfect teeth ie perfectly straight no caviites have every tooth even ones that don%26#039;t grow sometimes, perfectly white and perfect smile?

Imperfect teeth?
yeah! nobody can actually have perfect teeth! you must have some flaws!?
Reply:Looks are the last thing that sets a successful relationship. I don%26#039;t know you, but I feel comfortable saying that you are a beautiful person in your own right and you should not be worried about what people think of your teeth.
Reply:Think of it this way-would you want to be with someone who was with you because of your teeth? Sounds pretty insecure and unloving to me. If they can%26#039;t handle %26quot;imperfect%26quot; teeth then I wouldn%26#039;t envy their partner because being human means being imperfect in many ways.

As for perfection-in the eye of the beholder, isn%26#039;t it. Personally, I find pearly white teeth to look like chicklets.
Reply:Die crooked teeth die!!! LOL how u like that!!!
Reply:Of COURSE! Perfect doesn%26#039;t exist, but both me %26amp; my girl Iris have nice teeth cuz of braces (but we got a few fillings).

Can braces make teeth longer?

I used to have perfect teeth but a couple of years ago I chipped my front tooth and my dentist shaved them both of them down to match. Now my teeth appear too short and it%26#039;s very upsetting. I don%26#039;t want veneers because other then the legnth of my front teeth they are in good shape and I definitely don%26#039;t want them shaved down anymore then they%26#039;ve already been! I%26#039;m not sure about bonding because my dentist said that it wouldn%26#039;t last long on my front teeth.

So now I%26#039;m wondering if braces or a retainer could possibly help? Can braces pull teeth down further out of the gum to make them appear longer ( I%26#039;m only talkin like 1-2mm).

Can braces make teeth longer?
if its only a little bit more length your looking for then dont even think about braces! they hurt, and they are meant to straighten, not lengthen, your teeth. Try getting a special toothbrush from your dentist. one of the skinny ones used to stimulate your gums. it helps the stay at the proper size.

After you added more info:

you would certainly have to make an appointment with an orthodontist to see if it would be able to get braces. Some might say no mainly because your teeth do not need to be straightened.

added: thsi is generally what kind of problem are had in order to get braces: http://www.str8teeth.com/images/crowding... (my teeth before braces)

http://www.str8teeth.com/needortho.shtml (general problems)
Reply:yes, braces can pull teeth down, but you need to make sure that you have tooth to move down. what i mean is, your gum line hides the root of your tooth which is skinnier than the part of the tooth you actually see. my suggestion would be to have a consultation with an orthodontist, this is usually free of charge. they will let you know what options you may have. good luck.
Reply:no, braces aren%26#039;t meant to lengthen down the teeth. But, if your teeth tend to be up higher, such as your canine, in those cases, it can be used to lengthen the teeth. They can also lengthen the arch of your mouth to a wider rather than narrow size.

if you are looking into wanting lengthier teeth, you can consider getting cosmetic gum surgery, which will cut some excess gum tissue from above the teeth to make them appear larger.

Or instead of bonding, you can get veneers, which is a more sturdy and longer-lasting way than bondings, but costier.

ADDED INFO:

no,there is no effective way to pull your teeth down, that is rather a bad decision to do. Your teeth will come out of the socket, no procedures offer to pull your teeth down from a spot where they are already as far down as can be.
Reply:Are your teeth level? By this I mean that the central incisors are supposed to be a little bit longer than the lateral incisors. If the teeth are shorter, then, certainly, it would likely be OK to have the central incisors brought down a little bit.

There is a little bit of the crown that is covered by the gums. We lengthen teeth with braces all the time this way. However, if the teeth are already level, then the dentist should check how much of the gum is covering the crown. Sometimes teeth look short because there is too much gum covering the tooth. A simple procedure of shaping the gum with electrosurgery gives the appearance of a longer tooth.

It is really important that the dentist determines which of these procedures can be performed for you. If neither is an alternative, then veneers or lumineers is your only other choice.

Wisdom Teeth Problem.......?! Help, please?!?

Can someone tell me what%26#039;s going on w/ me? I had my wisdom teeth (all I had was 3 very impacted) taken out on May 17th. It’s now July 2nd.i%26#039;m cleaning the %26#039;holes%26#039; and do what I’m supposed to be doing. But my gums are swollen, where the %26#039;holes%26#039; are. Plus I cleaned ‘em (this was a few weeks ago) and my gums w/ the %26#039;holes%26#039; were bleeding so badly.I called mom in2 the bathroom %26amp; it looked like a slaughterhouse (blood everywhere!) I called the MD who took my teeth out, told me to come in right away. He said everything was ok. Since then my gums still bleed every once in a while, but nothing like that night. I%26#039;m going to my regular dentist this afternoon, I want him to tell me if I need to go back and see the MD who took %26#039;em out. The thing is that when my grandfather was in his 30%26#039;s he got his out. He had perfect teeth, then he got an infection PARIRIA (sorry I don%26#039;t know how to spell it) %26amp; he lost all of his teeth due to that. He was in his 30%26#039;s %26amp; had to get false teeth. I’m only 20

Wisdom Teeth Problem.......?! Help, please?!?
Back in the day if there was something wrong with your teeth you automatically needed to have then all pulled out. Dont worry about anything like that now! As long as your brushing and flossing, your teeth should be fine! But as far as that bleeding goes. It depends on how complicated the extraction was. It also depends on whether or not you have a dry socket. When you get a tooth pulled. You are supposed to be very careful for the first 24 hours. No spitting, straws, smoking or do anything that can suck out that socket ( or tissue covering the wound where the teeth were extracted.) If you accidently swallowed them are spit them out, it will be a longer and more painful recovery. Ask your dentist today, if he says that it needs to be looked at by your surgeon again, then just go back. Be on top of these things, your teeth are very important!
Reply:I%26#039;m not an expert, but when I had my wisdom teeth removed, I bled for awhile. Something might have eaten something that cut the wound, making it bleed like it did. Talk to your dentist. He will be able to tell you what you need to do.

Should I get veneers? are they expensive? i have straight teeth but i want them to look PERFECT.?

If you have great teeth that are perfect already..............it will depend on how you enjoy spending your money. I have veneers and I really enjoy them. My teeth were not perfectly straight, not bad, but not perfectly straight. Now, they are really white and straight. I enjoy them.

Should I get veneers? are they expensive? i have straight teeth but i want them to look PERFECT.?
Yes, they are very expensive. And %26quot;perfect%26quot; teeth are VERY fake looking. If they are very white and perfectly straight, it will look ugly. You should talk to a cosmetic dentist about your options.
Reply:if your teeth are perfect, dont ruin your smile with those things, because there have been studys that they dont want.
Reply:First, if your teeth are staight and healthy just use some whitestrips or something to perk them up a little. Once you have veneers there is no going back b/c they will have to remove the enamel from the fronts of your teeth to make the veneers fit. People are getting really obsessed over their teeth not realizing they look fine. Veneers look good but sometimes people have trouble retaining them b/c they do not cover the whole back of your teeth. If the cement gets just a little weak they will fall off. Yeah they can be put back on but do you want to go through that?
Reply:If your teeth is already straight, no chips, no gaps, no staining, I wouldn%26#039;t get them. Because if you get them too straight, white, and thick, it can look like dentures. Try a whitening system like Crest or get a professional one. You%26#039;ll be surprised how something so little like that can make a huge diff. Or ask your dentist what they recommend. Good luck!

Does everyone get their teeth taken out for braces?

im getting my teeth taken out in a week cuz im gettin braces.why do they take ur teeth out?my brother has teeth that stick out and he said hes not getting his teeth taken out!does every condition need their teeth taken out?after i take my braces out will my other teeth go into the place where i had my teeth taken out?im really curious and i really dont want to take them out..i guess i just want to if i want to have perfect teeth!

Does everyone get their teeth taken out for braces?
No not everyone who gets braces gets teeth removed. I got braces at 25 and no teeth removed. My son got braces at 12 and at 13 had to have 4 permanent teeth removed. My daughter got braces at 12 and had only one baby tooth removed. My youngest is 10, probably will get braces and probably won%26#039;t need any teeth removed. It%26#039;s important if they are baby or permanent. There%26#039;s nothing wrong with removing baby teeth for braces. You need to carefully (or you and your parents) consider removing permanent teeth - it can change the shape of your face; what happens if you loose other teeth later on; etc. We asked why my son couldn%26#039;t get a palette expander instead of removing the teeth, but the expander can only make the roof or top jaw bigger - you can never expand the bottom jaw and he had no room. Ask questions and go for a second opinion. Good luck!
Reply:Yeah I had to have quite a few out. It wasn%26#039;t fun, but my teeth look fine now.
Reply:i did years ago.. 2 of them , 1 on each side.

think about it.. braces push back teeth.. so need somewhere to push against..

alas my dentist was a cow bag, i broke my brace and couldn%26#039;t get a new one...
Reply:it varies for everyone with braces. some only have overbite and nice straight teeth. but in the end dont worry becuz it will all look nice =]
Reply:haha, the same thing happened to me! my brother was lucky and didnt have to get his teeth pulled out, while i did. I think its because me brothers teeth are spaced in his mouth better. I think they have to take the teeth out because you need to make room for the front teeth to be evenly spaced out....so haha i guess the dentists know what they%26#039;re doing...i had two teeth pulled out, believe me, its not TOO bad....plus, the perfect smile is rewarding afterwards!
Reply:Sometimes an orthodontist will shave off parts of teeth to make them narrower or even remove a tooth to make room for your new smile. It may just be that your mouth is %26quot;too crowded.%26quot; Talk to him about what he is going to do and why so you have a better understanding and feel more comfortable about it.
Reply:Not everyone needs to have teeth extracted, it depends on the severity of the tooth placement, your mouth size and sometimes even the orthodontist. Everyone%26#039;s case is different. Maybe your ortho foresees that having some teeth taken out will give further room for others when they become better aligned. Also, the human mouth does not actually use all of its teeth, which is why the wisdom teeth are extracted in some people. If you ever feel uneasy about a medical procedure, though, ask for a second opinion and talk to your parents (if you are underage). Good luck!!
Reply:I got four removed for my braces. It%26#039;s because their your baby teeth and there would be no reason to go through the pain and time to straighten them out when their just going to fall out anyways. Everyones teeth grow out at different times, but the chances are that they%26#039;ll leave the braces on until those teeth grow fully, then they will get braces too...and when everything is straight, you get your braces removed! :]
Reply:Oh deary, it%26#039;s not because your teeth are CROOKED that they are taking them out. It%26#039;s because they are ROTTEN! It%26#039;s the stench of decaying teeth that%26#039;s making an extraction necessary.

I recommend forgoing braces all together, since you%26#039;re not going to brush your teeth anyway.

Bright side? Dentures don%26#039;t rot
Reply:When I was younger a good friend of mine had braces. She also went through the ordeal of tooth extraction.

This is nothing to worry about. Your brother probably didn%26#039;t have any removed because the root system was still able to be adjusted or his teeth where remotely in the correct position.

Don%26#039;t worry you will have teeth in the end. Hers where actually attached to a retainer while her teeth where still shifting. Afterwards she received implants.

Discuss this with your orthodontist ask the Dr. all the questions that concern you. They are there to make your smile beautiful...and in the end its worth being a brace face because for the rest of your life your smile will be amazing.
Reply:I didnt get my teeth taken out when I got braces. My dentist told me that i would have to take out 4 of my teeth but I didnt want to so I went to another dentist to get another opinion. I had to wear separaters and this thing on the roof of my mouth for about 6months and that made enough space. So I wore that instead of taking out my teeth.

My friends had their teeth taken out and it looks perfectly fine. After a couple of months, your teeth go into those spaces and it looks nice. I think you should ask your dentist if there is any way around taking teeth out, but if there isnt, go for it because it%26#039;ll all be worth it in the end.
Reply:Not everyone. If space is needed to relief crowding of teeth, then yes.
Reply:HI,

EXTRACTIONS ARE NOT ALWAYS NEEDED. IF YOUR TEETH NEED TO BE REMOVED FOR ORTHODONTIC REASONS, EVERYTHING WILL BE JUST FINE WHEN THE CASE IS FINISHED.

Braces with missing teeth?

hey i have had braces for about 15 months im supposed to keep them for up to 24 months anyway the teeth on either side of my two front big teeth are missing so my orthodontist is pulling all of my teeth closer together so u cant notice the missing teeth but i%26#039;m soo worried that its not gonna look naturall because the teeth next to my two front teeth are pointy ( he said hes gonna file them down though ). anyone else ever have this situation ? he was gonna do implants but he said that it will look totally normal once finished but i%26#039;m still worried i really want perfect teeth thanks

Braces with missing teeth?
I dont have that exact problem but i have a similar one...I have WAY to much space in between my teeth...I have to keep my braces on and because when they get taken off there will be bunched up gums i have to get them laser removed...dont worry your gonna look great.
Reply:I haven%26#039;t heard of this being done, although I%26#039;m sure it%26#039;s possible. Does he have pictures of work like that he%26#039;s done in the past. My dentist was going to do some out of the ordinary work and he showed me pictures of the before and after from somebody else. I would also be hesitant. I%26#039;m sure it will look fine, but I dont%26#039; know if it will be %26quot;perfect%26quot;. If perfection is your goal I would go with the implants. It%26#039;s hard to fix the filed down teeth after it%26#039;s already done.
Reply:yeah, i had that problem. its not gonna look bad tho. its just gonna hurt a bit. your gonna need some tyalnol (or another pain killer) and alot of food you dont have to chew. like mashed potatoes, jello, pudding, ice cream. you know all that. just be prepared for it to hurt. but trust me once your teeth get filed down your gonna look great!
Reply:I have never had that problem but, I%26#039;m guessing that you are having nightmares. A little advise, let the Dr. do the work because then you are going to be worried about things that might happen. If it looks fake at the end then, worry.

Don%26#039;t worry. :)
Reply:Before you make a decision, I recommend that you get a second and third opinion, specifically from a cosmetic dentist in your local area if you%26#039;re concern how your teeth will look. A good cosmetic dentist should be able to tell you what all your options are, but also have your long-term health in mind. Don’t just go to a regular general dentist because it sounds that you are also concerned with the way your teeth look, which is what cosmetic dentists specifically look to do.

In a nutshell, from what I’ve learned in my similar situation, the ideal solution is to move your teeth to their natural position and go for implants where your natural incisors are. So rather than have your orthodontist pull your teeth forward, you may want to look into having your teeth pulled back to make room for implants (I believe you need at least 6mm of space). Having your teeth pulled foward may, like in my case create too much space to close and leaves the possibly that teeth will shift, especially if you don%26#039;t wear your retainer. Also, depending on the size of your K9s and incisors, they may look too big together to look natural.

You will probably be looking into veneers, implants, and/or bridges. You may need to develop a plan with your orthodontics to accommodate these possible solutions.

Improper treatment of your situation can result in jaw problems in the future and your teeth may begin grinding overtime in a way that may be unfavorable. If you are relatively young, take your time with this process because this concerns your health and look.

I am in a similar situation and did what your orthodontist is recommending, but I want perfect teeth like any other person would and his recommendation ended up complicating my situation more in terms of time and money spent. Also, there are plenty advances in dentistry to suggest that you have a variety of options.

I strongly urge you to get a second and third (and fourth and so on…) opinion from a cosmetic dentist. Beware as many dentists will claim to be cosmetic dentists, but you’ll want to find a dentist who actively participates in advanced training (beyond regular dental school) and affiliated with reputable cosmetic dentistry association. I personally met several cosmetic dentists for my situation (even Dr. 90210) and you begin to realize that there are better qualified dentists than the average. Keep in mind, as one dentist told me, cosmetic dentistry is like a religion and all of them claim their method/training is way to go, but in several cases, there are several approaches you can take.

When finding a dentist, look for those who have accreditation to organizations like the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). I looked at the credentials and affiliations of some dentists who I know were good (they’re usually listed on their websites, displayed certificates on their walls, or resume upon request), and searched for dentists who had similar accreditations. In my experience, there were several dentist who received advanced training with Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and/or Esthetic Professionals.

Also, if/when you meet with the cosmetic dentists, be sure to see some of the work they’ve done (photographs of cases they’ve worked on).

Be warned that most insurance don’t cover cosmetic procedures. So you may have to look into payment plans if necessary. Of course, it will come down to you what you want to pay, but I caution you to remember the old adage, you get what you pay for.

Do your shopping and educate yourself along the way. At the very least get a second and third opinion, and do lots of internet research when you shop and locate a doctor.

First impressions on guys teeth?

Basically my teeth aren%26#039;t perfect. They aren%26#039;t shiny or clear like al lot of guys. I have one friend whose teeth are a little less white than mine, but his are straight. I think I%26#039;d be more confident if I had straight teeth at least because then I could use white out or something. Having gaps in your teeth isn%26#039;t cheaply fixed. I was wondering if a girl would date a guy with teeth not as nice as hers. And, don%26#039;t lie about it. I%26#039;m sick of reading about stories he had %26quot;perfect teeth%26quot; or when I see toothpaste commercials and someone smiling real big I kind of just turn around and cower. I had great self esteem before I started noticing this. I think this is what keeps me away from relationships. I%26#039;m 18 now and I want a girlfriend again, but I just don%26#039;t feel like I%26#039;d be worth it to someone.

First impressions on guys teeth?
As long as a guys teeth are clean (i.e not covered in plaque or with food stuck in) it doesn%26#039;t really matter. I accept that people drink beverages and eats certain foods that cause teeth to take yellowy appearance.

If anyone judges you souly by whether or not your teeth are perfectly straight and white, then they%26#039;re not worth either knowing let alone dating.
Reply:It doesn%26#039;t matter that you don%26#039;t have perfect teeth...all that matters is that you stay confident in yourself and that you are a nice person....i wouldn%26#039;t not date a guy just because he didn%26#039;t have perfect teeth.....It%26#039;s only the mean girls that do that!!

Hope i helped you and that you get nice girlfriend :)
Reply:I have a little gap in my front teeth because my teeth have moved. So I went to an orthodontist to talk to him about what I can do. There are things you can do of course.

Then he showed me his front teeth. They had an even bigger gap. Well that didn%26#039;t stop him. He had a successful career, wife, family and even grandchildren and he was a super great guy!

You probably can get something cheap to whiten your teeth. I heard some people actually try plain hydrogen peroxide. My teeth are too sensitive right now for any whitening, but you sound young so it should work for you.

Don%26#039;t worry, you will find a girl for you.
Reply:In my opinion teeth are the biggest thing I look for in a guy,

so get braces!

and in 1 or 2 years they%26#039;ll be good like all your friends are!

Whats wrong with my teeth?

i am 15 and havent been the dentist since i was about 6. Most of my teeth are white, as i have always brushed them twice a day. but some of my teeth are weird.. my two frount teeth are both white, with big white %26quot;spots%26quot; on them, and on one of the frount teeth there is a yellow stained spot. it%26#039;s been like this for as long as i can remember, my friends used to ask why my teeth were like this when i was about 9. Also the very bottom of my two frount teeth are almost %26quot;clear%26quot; - you can kinda see through them, theyre not white or anything. It%26#039;s hard to explain, it is like this on a few of my other teeth, but only noticable on my two frount teeth. Does anyone know what this is? can i get rid of the yellow %26quot;spot%26quot; in any way?

I want to go to the dentist, but i%26#039;m scared cuase ive never seen anything like this on anyone else before, and most other people my age have perfect teeth.

Whats wrong with my teeth?
Wow I thought I was one of a few people but I have this too. I went to the dentist and they told me it was some kind of a teeth defect. You need to go to the dentist they give you treatments to do and other procedures to go through. If you wait to long it might get worse....but you know it might not be what I%26#039;m talking about at all. You need to just go to the dentist :D
Reply:you need to see the dentist at least once a year

Can bad teeth cause skin problems? This is long...but I need help.?

About 5 years ago, the tops of my teeth started hurting at my gums. No decaying at that time. My dentist would always tell me I had perfect teeth. Then this pain and the dentist said the separation was occurring because I was getting older and the gums recede. So I just dealt with the pain for the longest time.

Well, at this time, I started getting this rash at my ankles seeming to be at each hair.

Went to dozens of doctors who had me try different things, to no avail. The rash has spread up my legs to above my knees and now on my forearms to above my elbows - lower extremities. The last skin specialist I went to told me I had some %26quot;unknown disease%26quot; and gave me a photocopy of scripts that he evidently dishes out when he doesn%26#039;t know what he%26#039;s dealing with. I went to my car and cried and never had those scripts filled, for obvious reasons. Anyway, my teeth started getting really bad, decaying at a high rate. My %26#039;new%26#039; dentist told me it was caused by my ashma medication [puffer] and from drinking soda. I stopped the soda. The rash has not changed. It of course itches so bad and is painful. I wake up to myself scratching my legs so bad that they bleed. I%26#039;ve tried all kinds of meds, all kinds of doctors. I%26#039;ve tried the anti-itch meds, internal, external, anti-biotics, natural remedies like oatmeal baths, etc.

I%26#039;ve been having my teeth done slowly, due to work schedule, sick Dad and money, I%26#039;m not able to get them done as quickly as I want.

I just need to know if anyone has ever come across a bad teeth and skin problems relationship.

I have a friend that almost had brain surgery because every doctor blamed her massive headaches and infection in her blood due to something in her brain. Ended up she had a

major tooth infection that had spread to her body, but had never given her any pain to warrant it to be checked out.

Just need some help, if anyone can.

It%26#039;s 90 degrees out and I%26#039;m wearing long pants and shirts. And....yes, I had a blood workup. Doc said everything showed up fine. No problems showing for anything.

Just trying to find out if the skin problem could be linked to the teeth problem.

Can bad teeth cause skin problems? This is long...but I need help.?
since you already have asthma, i would suggest you go in for in-depth allergy testing. it sounds to me more like you have severe allergy rashes than some of the other things you have mentioned. if your blood is clear of infection, then i doubt it is from your teeth. i would try the allergy testing- that doctory can tell you pretty quickly if it is NOT allergies. and if not, he should be able to point you in the right direction. best of luck to you--grmmynet
Reply:Remember an infection usually is accommodated with a fever which I assume you do not have. So no virus is present from what I have gathered or bacteria but always brush your teeth thoroughly and don%26#039;t chew tobacco, smoke anything, or drink acidic beverages or basic liquids. I don%26#039;t think it is cancer because your doctor will catch that quickly and mouth cancer shows little symptoms, check your mouth for medium to large white postules along the linnings or your gums, black lumps are also a bad sign. Always take a daily supplement like Centrum or other vitamins, many mineral and vitamin deficincies affect the mouth areas. Feel the texture of the rash to determine what it could be, is it flaky or rough? You need to provide more details than a rash but from all of the information you have given me I have to conclude that you are allergic to something, it could be the aspirator you use for asthma or even your toothpaste, foods, the list goes on go to your doctor and request a %26quot;scratch test%26quot; which tests you for different allergies by nicking your blood with the chemicals to see if and how you react. Good Luck, if all else fails switch your deit to simple foods: breads, chicken, water, oats, and simple foods with little perservatives and very little ingredients for sometime to see if your condition improves.
Reply:I would definately go for an allergy test and get a 2nd dermatologists opinion. you said you have asthma right so I would think back to when the rash started, did your family/regular doctor change any of your medications? it could have even been so much as a week before you started showing symptoms from the new asthma meds and you might not even think to link the two together, i certainly didn%26#039;t when I broke out in a rash all over my face and neck from an allergic reaction to an inhaler in fact that was the last thing I thought could be causing a rash we tried all kinds of creams from acne cream to antibiotic cream (all prescribed) it was about a month later when my doctor and I even realized it was the asthma meds doing it (I was about 15 so that%26#039;s the typical acne age and we thought nothing of all these creams etc. in fact thats even what the rash looked like was acne so that also threw us for a loop) Anyways I would definately get a 2nd or even 30th opinion until someone can diagnose you correctly and not just prescribe you meds for something they even admit to you they have no idea...........as for the itching I will try and find you a website I use that may be able to give you some new things to try..........here are a few sites you should check over it looks like the one could help you dianose what kind of rash it is.....if all else fails head to the ER there may be someone there who could better dianose you I have done this a couple of times and it%26#039;s almost better than your normal doc because often there is more than one doctor on call in the ER and sometimes if one of them doesn%26#039;t know what it is the other one might....if you go just tell them the truth that the itching and pain is unbearable and you have tried everything in the past week, month, year etc. but nothing works

Teeth falling out?

I have this dream really often about my teeth falling out. It%26#039;s like one tooth falls out and then they all start just falling out. I%26#039;m always trying to pick them up and run to the dentist to get my teeth put back in before it%26#039;s too late but I can never make it on time. The circumstances around my teeth falling out are always different. Never the same place, time or circumstances just always teeth falling out and me trying to get them up and run to the dentist. What is this dream trying to tell me? Oh, by the way, I have perfect teeth and I visit the dentist regularly.

Teeth falling out?
Okay, this is also a dream that I have often...when i was in therapy for anxiety, I brought this up and it stems from a feeling of not being in control, being out of control, or just having mixed up and uncontrollable thoughts and/or feelings. I hope this helps. Do you ever dream about storms especilly tornadoes? That also is most of the time interpreted the same way. And as you know (if you figure out who this is) I have an extreme phobia of storms and tornadoes...I guess I am completely out of control, uh? LOL!
Reply:It means you regret something you said..
Reply:it means that when you get old dude you%26#039;ll defenitely be wearing dentures
Reply:u find out get ahold of me im not running to the dentist but the part of the teeth poppin out is the same.
Reply:For you, it means you have taken such good care of your teeth and you are obviously afraid of losing them. Understandable. Don%26#039;t worry quite so much about your looks-- it%26#039;s vain and it%26#039;s hurting your sleep. Put more effort into being a good person, helpful, kind, and having fun. You may already be these things, but you are worrying too much about your looks, so you need to refocus your mind.
Reply:One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used in the game of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others. Caring about our appearance is natural and healthy.

Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.

Teeth are used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth represent power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Are you lacking power in some current situation? Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situation or relationship in your life. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.

In the latest research, it has been shown that women in menopause have frequent dreams about teeth. This may be related to getting older and/or feeling unattractive and less feminine.

Traditionally, it was thought that dreaming that you did not have teeth, represent malnutrition which may be applicable to some dreamers.

Other Perspectives

A scriptural interpretation for bad or falling teeth indicate that you are putting your faith, trust, and beliefs in what man thinks rather than in the word of God. The bible says that God speaks once, yea twice in a dream or a vision in order to hide pride from us, to keep us back from the pit, to open our ears (spiritually) and to instruct and correct us.

In the Greek culture, when you dream about loose, rotten, or missing teeth, it indicates that a family member or close friend is very sick or even near death.

According to the Chinese, there is a saying that your teeth will fall out if your are telling lies.

It has also been said that if you dream of your teeth falling out, then it symbolizes money. This is based on the old tooth fairy story. If you lose a tooth and leave it under the pillow, a tooth fairy would bring you money.
Reply:It means that you are afraid someone or some people will see something about you that you don%26#039;t want them to see. Your teeth are white and pure and belong there. People really notice them. If they are missing or gross people will notice for sure and think negatively about it or you. Your teeth represent your self image. You are afraid someone will see something in you that is negative or embarrassing. That is why you are trying to fix it before anyone can see it.

It%26#039;s not necesarily a physical trait. Think of something you are ashamed of recently. That%26#039;s probably it.
Reply:in our culture

we have beliefs that when you dreamed of that someone you love will die.

this is just a belief

dont make it serious
Reply:Dreaming of your teeth falling out falls into the same category as dreaming you are inappropriately dressed. It%26#039;s an %26#039;anxiety dream%26#039; and they take all kinds of forms - even that you are yelling or fighting with someone. Examine the past couple of days. Have you been stressed about a particular issue?
Reply:Losing your teeth means you have lost or are losing the ability to grasp and deal or dissect certain issues going on in your life. Or to put it plainly, you are not using sound judgemnet in your everyday life circumstances.
Reply:Not to worry, this is a VERY common dream! According to psychoanalytic theory, it represents a type of anxiety. Since your dreams are recurring, you should try to figure out the root problem. Freud thought that such dreams were representative of sexual repression. (he found a sexual root to many symptoms, so take that cautiously.) So, Freud might suggest you explore your sexuality. Is something bothering you around that subject?

Bad teeth problems...HELP?

I%26#039;m a 21 year old female. For about the past 6 or 7 years I%26#039;ve been having really bad problems with my teeth. I%26#039;ve had several root canals, several teeth pulled, and tons of cavaties. Now, before any of you give me answers like brush your teeth more, here%26#039;s what I do on a daily basis. I brush my teeth in the morning, after I eat something I rinse my mouth with water at least (since you cant brush your teeth all the time), I floss once daily, and I brush my teeth before I go to bed. Why is this happening to me???!!! Is there something that I can try to do?? I%26#039;ve had all sorts of treatments, and have seen all sorts of dentists, none of them know what is wrong with me. Seriously, I%26#039;m 21 and my smile is ugly and gross. I want picture perfect teeth, but I definately don%26#039;t have the money to get veneers or any of that stuff done. Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much...

Bad teeth problems...HELP?
I would ask your dentist these question. It sounds like you%26#039;re doing all of the right things. As for the cosmetic work, you can finance the work. If you can swing it you may be able to work out payment arrangements with your dentist if you%26#039;d like to seriously pursue it.
Reply:are you smoking? that can definatly have something to do with it. That and pop. Stop eating sugar, chewing gum and all that fun stuff. If you%26#039;re not smoking or eating sugar- it could just be your upbringing. Your parents may not have made you take care of your teeth as you were younger and it just now caught up to you. Good luck :)
Reply:ME TOO!!!!! i am sixteen and have really bad teeth also. and i do brush floss all that good stuff. But what my problem is, is that i have really bad enamel. you can get this toothpaste stuff at your local drugstore, its over the counter but you don%26#039;t need a prescription, its called STANNOUS FLUORIDE and it helps against sensitive teeth and cavity prevention, i hope this helps, i%26#039;m not a dentist but i can definitley feel your pain, and your wanting of a perfect smile :)
Reply:Bad teeth are caused by different factors, bad hygiene, genetics, eating habits etc. It is believed that some decay is caused by the bacterial make-up of one%26#039;s saliva. I believe they are testing vaccines to help in the fight against decay.

In any case, you may want to ask your dentist to use fluoride treatment to help prevent future problems.

Cosmetically the best you can do is over the counter tooth whiteners. Crest Whitestrips (You want Classic NOT Premium).

Bonding may be a less expensive alternative to veneers.

Good luck!
Reply:It sounds like to me that you probably have periodontal disease. If this is the case, you need to see a Periodontist rather than a dentist. There are some prescription strength toothpastes and mouth washes that your doctor or dentist can prescribe for you. In the mean time, I suggest using either synsodyne or prevident toothpaste. You can buy them over the counter. Also, use an alcohol free mouthwash like Crest Pro-Health three times a day. Cut back on sodas, coffee, and do not smoke. All of these things are the worst for your teeth. Stay away from tooth whiteners until you are fully healed. They weaken your teeth. Seek help quickly though, because an oral disease can spread throughout your body, if left untreated. I hope this helps! :)
Reply:that is a tough one. i%26#039;ve had %26quot;soft teeth%26quot; too! and it%26#039;s FRUSTRATING!! the key sometimes is WHAT you eat. there are some things they are very acidic and which wear down the enamel, making it soft, and allowing for decay. Come really bad culprits are pop/soda/colas/coke what ever you call those carbonated beverages where you are from, the regular AND the diet are very acidic (my dentist shared this information). Also, of course sugars (eating candy, desserts, etc.) left on teeth will decay them as well as carbohydrates (breads, etc.). Fruits and fruit juices can also be very acidic. So, when eating those things I would recommend brushing immediately after (I carry a small toothpaste and toothbrush with me everywhere I go). But you may also want to cut down on a lot of those things, because it can also be harmful if you brush your teeth a million times a day (that also wears the enamel). Finally, the last hygenist I saw recommended a flouride rinse at night after I brush and floss to get where those things cant. She said it would slow the decay if it is forming. That way when you see the dentist regularly (which also helps) you can catch things before they become root canals/extractions! I hope that helps!
Reply:It could be genetics too. I have the same thing. My mom, never had a cavity and she%26#039;s in her 50s. My sibling all can count on one hand how many fillings. But my dad%26#039;s side has bad teeth. Guess I got it from them. =) Keeping up with cleanings are essential. Ask your dentist or hygienist how to brush or floss. I know it sounds silly but I found out that I was brushing too hard and not flossing correclty. Also, ask which toothbrushes, floss, toothpaste they recommend. Mines liked Sonicare. It%26#039;s pricey but it%26#039;s very effective in reaching in the back. They sell an battery operated one too that costs $29.99, Sonicare Extreme. When flossing, curve to your tooth and do a %26quot;c%26quot; shape at the gumline. I also use Act anticavity mouthwash. I try to consume vitamin C and dairy daily because they%26#039;re good for teeth and bones. There%26#039;s also veneners, braces or bonding that can improve the way teeth look. It can be expensive but doing a few at a time can help. I%26#039;ve kept up with what they recommend and the last check-up, I had only 2 filling done! The least ever!! =) Good luck!

You have to have talent.
Reply:girl i have crooked teeth too, and i have never had a problem getting guys! just be confident and secure with who you are and you can never go wrong! just be yourself and hold your head up high knowing that any guy that gets you is one lucky SOB!

Reply:Be nice, smart, funny, beautiful, and everything. Your crooked teeth should be no issue if they are white and clean.

just be confident.

There always in so much compatition with nothing.

Most of the %26quot;good looking%26quot; people I grew up with are all doing the ball and chain life now.

Just be your self and go after people who are more like yourself.

Not because they %26quot;look good%26quot; or are %26quot;popular%26quot;.

Do your top teeth have to be in front of your bottom teeth or can they lie perfectly on top to be perfect?

I am taking my braces off tomorrow because my 15s cruise leaves saturday. my orthodontist said my teeth were ready to remove the braces ad asked me to wear some rubber bands to keep the midline(huh..?). But i have noticed that my teeth have moved and now the top oes lie perfectly on the bottoms ones, not slightly in front like I see most people have them. is that ok? will he still be able to take the braces off or will we have to wait till they go slightly over?

Do your top teeth have to be in front of your bottom teeth or can they lie perfectly on top to be perfect?
I highly doubt your getting your braces off (sorry!) They really should not take them off. your top teeth are supposed to be slightly over the bottom ones. This really is a big deal. Your teeth really need to meet and %26quot;bite%26quot; up against each other in a certain way.

call them and tell them whats going on and see what they say and what they can do to get them off soon
Reply:Your best bet is to call your ortho and tell him about your problems.
Reply:wen ur top teeth are slightly in front of ur bottom teeth thats called an overbite...there is nothin wrong with that but it is better for ur top teeth to be directly on tp of ur bottom teeth..so yeah...let ur dentist take them off cuz u will have perfect teeth =-)
Reply:HELLO,

THIS IS KNOWN AS EDGE-TO-EDGE ALIGNMENT.

MOST PEOPLE HAVE A SLIGHT OVERBITE THAT ENABLES THEM TO EASILY BITE INTO SOMETHING THIN LIKE A LETTUCE LEAF OR GENTLY PULL OUT STAPLES OR OTHER SMALL OBJECTS WITH THEIR TEETH.

HAVING YOUR SITUATION IS NOT BAD, BUT IF YOU HAD AN OPEN BITE THIS WOULD BE TERRIBLE. YOUR TEETH WOULD NEVER TOUCH.

If you mean crooked then I would go with the teeth.

This is if I were a guy
